Sam Ng, founder of four Shanghai Toastmasters Clubs and experienced coach & trainer, will provide all Nanjing Toastmasters Clubs a sharing in the following areas this Thursday 17th May 2012, from 7 – 9 pm:

1) How to make successful speeches (Project 1 – 10)
2) How to make effective evaluations
3) Toastmasters Standard Operating Procedures (how to perform your meeting roles in a professional manner)

This sharing will take place in our usual Nanjing No. 1 TMC meeting location in Room 1507, Wuxing Nianhua Building, No. 139 Hanzhong Road (Exit No. 1, Shanghai Road Metro Line 2 Station) 汉中路139号五星年华大厦1507, 地铁2号线上海路站1号出站.

Sat 14th April 2012: Division Contest in Wuxi

In the coming Saturday, 14th April 2012, there will be the Division Q Contest Spring 2012 in Wuxi. The winners of the Area Contest will participate in this contest – again in the categories English, Mandarin and Table Topics Speech Contest.

The contest will take place from 1 – 5 pm in:
No. 403 Zhong Shan Road 中山路403号
Grand Park Hotel 君乐酒店

Three contest winners of our club plus several others will be going there. So book your train ticket and see you on the 14th in Wuxi!

2012 Spring Club Speech Contest

On Tuesday, 6th March and 13th March, we will host our Spring Club Speech Contest 2012. This time, the contest categories are:

6th March, 19:15, in our usual meeting venue
- Mandarin Speech Contest
- Table Topics Speech Contest

13th March, 19:15, in our usual meeting venue
- International Speech Contest (English)

The winners of the first and second place of each contest category will proceed to contests of higher levels (area, division, district). For international Speech Contest, the preconditions to proceed is that you have finished your 6th speech. For Mandarin Speech Contest and Table Topic Contest however, there are no restrictions. Even though if you are a new member, you can proceed even up to the regional or worldwide level to compete against the best of the best toastmasters from all over the world.

For our Toastmasters Spring Conference this year in Hangzhou from 11th to 13th May 2012, you still have 3 days until 29th February to register for the tickets at the “Early Bird” price of 518 RMB. Afterwards, the price will go up to 600 RMB.

Meetings canceled during Chinese New Year Period

Please note that our regular meetings on Tuesday, 17th and 24th January 2012 will be canceled since many of our members will be gone back home for Chinese New Year. Our first meeting after Chinese New Year will be on Tuesday, 31st January 2012. COT & New Year’s Party on 7th Jan

What would be good to have during this gray and cold winter time? Getting together in a bar, ideas and experience exchange about Toastmasters, networking, different performances, gift exchange, New Year’s cake and a lot of fun… all this you can have altogether on Saturday, 7th January 2012!

On 7th January 2012, we held the biggest joint event ever – our joint New Year Party with 5 Toastmasters Clubs! Members of Nanjing Alcatel Lucent Smart Speakers, Nanjing HROP, Nanjing Ericcson, Nanjing No. 1 and Zhenjiang No. 1 Toastmasters Club joined this lovely event with loads of performances, games, gifts, food and fun!
