Division L Contest on 23rd April in Shanghai

April 18, 2011 in General by Helen Reumann

Our excellent members Jerel Bonner, Katie Zhang and Leinie Zhang represented our Nanjing No. 1 Toastmasters Club to fight for the Division-level awards in Division L Speech Contest on April 23rd 2011 in Shanghai. Although Jerel actually won the 2. Place of the International Speech Contest. But according to the contest rules, they all cannot proceed further for the District Contest.

In any case, you certainly all agree with me that they are all winners already indeed passing our club contest and the area contest, right? So please do join me giving them another applause over the web!

If you are interested in some comments on the Division Contest, please have a look to our Nanjing No. 1 Toastmasters’ Blog.

Katie, our 4th Competent Communicator!

March 19, 2011 in General by Helen Reumann

Katie, our current Education Vice President (EVP), has just finished her 10th speech with the title “More proactive, better life!” on 15th March 2011, and therefore become another Competent Communicator (CC) of our club – the 4th CC of Nanjing No. 1 Toastmasters Club!

Katie has always been our role model both in terms of making speeches and in terms of her contributions to our club. Before she became our Education Vice President, she had already been active as the assistant to Vice President Public Relations. In her speeches, she is always very concentrated, takes care of her eye contact, body languages and audience involvement. We can all learn a lot from her performance.

Please join us congratulating Katie for achieving her Competent Communicator!
